The National Debt and Cumulative Trade Deficit are Out of Control!

THE CAMEL IS IN THE TENT!

There is an old fable of an Arab who when traveling with his Camel stopped after a long day and made camp and prepared to rest in his tent.  The sun went down and it became very cold.
The Camel said, "Master, it is cold an I am shivering.  Could I please put my head in the tent."
The Arab, possessing a gentle heart, said, "Yes you may Camel. But only your head because the tent is small."
At 12:00  midnight the Camel nudged the Arab and said,  "Master, it is bitter cold and my feet are cold.  Can I please put my forelegs in the tent.
The kind sleepy Arab said, "Yes you may Camel, but only your forelegs because the tent is small.  The Arab found himself at the wall of the tent with most of the tent occupied by the Camel.
At 2:30 in the morning the Arab woke with a howling wind and snow falling.  His hands and feet were cold and he had been pushed out of the tent by the Camel who now had his head, his forelegs, and his back legs in the tent.

The adjacent chart clearly shows that the Cumulative Trade Deficit and the National Debt are strongly linked.  This is no accident, there is an accounting identity that net national savings equals the trade surplus!

The head of the Camel is the corporate lobbyists making the case for free trade.  This is of course a joke because to sell to the people of China, Vietnam, or Mexico you have to pay the workers a living wage so they can buy something.

The forelegs of the Camel is the cumulative trade deficit which results from those policies.

The hind legs of the of the Camel is the National Debt which parallels the Cumulative Trade Deficit.

Of course you also get the rear end of the Camel and the Camel dung in the tent which is the socialist nonsense the Democratic Party will spread in their efforts to buy votes while pretending to care about your pain caused by the bipartisan free trade policies.

To be intellectually honest, every Republican candidate who acts concerned about the National Debt but does not address the trade issues is also failing to recognize that the front legs of the Camel are connected to the back legs of the Camel.  It's the same animal in the wrong place.

To solve these problems, we need to put the Free Trade Camel, not the American workers, out in the cold.
There is more in my book on these issues.

Let's get America back on her feet, working with her own hands!
